PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The BIG EAST
Conference will continue to expand upon its BIGEAST.org and BIGEAST.tv coverage
of the 2009 men’s and women’s basketball media days on Oct. 21 and 22. Fans should visit the media days home page
sites before, during and after the events to watch exclusive interviews with
players and coaches, read previews of each team, pre-order men’s and women’s
basketball media guides, bid on exclusive premium auctions and much more.
Men’s and women’s coverage is kept together
on the 2009 Media Days home page and consists of outlook, roster and schedule
information for each team. Free
BIGEAST.tv video of interviews with players and coaches from each team will be
added late in the day Wednesday and Thursday.
In addition, fans can watch Commissioner John Marinatto’s opening
remarks from both events and comments from Doug Bruno, the president of the BIG
EAST Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association, who will talk about the league
outlook this season at women’s media day.
Additional video will be added in the days following men’s and women’s
media day as it becomes available.
In addition, fans should check out the
BIGEAST.org newsstand in the days following media day, where they’ll be able to
check out all of the local and national coverage of the league and its schools
at media day to save fans the hassle of scrounging the Internet for the news
and features they desire.
Fans should be sure to check the BIG EAST
Conference's official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bigeastconference) and
its men’s and women’s basketball Twitter accounts (@BigEastMBB and @BigEastWBB)
for exclusive behind-the-scenes updates from various BIG EAST staff members
attending the media day events.
The 2009-10 BIG EAST Conference Men’s and
Women’s Basketball Media Guides are now available for pre-order, and orders
will be fulfilled beginning Monday, Oct. 26 and will be shipped within 10-14
days.
