PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence senior goalkeeper Rachel Chamberlain finished up the final two weeks of the regular season with two straight BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week awards. Louisville sophomore Hayley Turner took the final Offensive Player of the Week honor, the first of her career.

Chamberlain earns the defensive weekly honor after leading the Friars to two shutouts last week. The senior made 11 stops in a 2-0 win at Boston University on Oct. 30, and two stops in a 4-0 win at Vermont on Nov. 1. The shutouts mark the third and fourth consecutive blank sheets for PC, which has totaled six on the season. Chamberlain ranks second among BIG EAST goalkeepers in saves (5.29 spg) and shutouts (3) and boasts a 1.54 goals against average and .750 save percentage.

Turner earns the offensive weekly honor after a nine-point performance last week. The sophomore led the Cardinals' offensive output in a 2-0 week. She tallied two goals in Louisville's BIG EAST regular season finale, a 5-1 win at Georgetown on Oct. 31. She then led UofL to its first win over a ranked opponent this season when she notched two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over No. 12 Stanford. Turner leads Louisville with 15 goals and 41 points and stands in second in both categories in the BIG EAST.

The pair will look to advance their respective teams this weekend at the BIG EAST Championship when fourth-seeded Providence takes on top-seeded Syracuse at 11:00 a.m., followed by No. 3 Louisville facing No. 2 Connecticut at 1:30 p.m. Semifinal games are on Nov. 7, followed by the winners squaring off on Nov. 8 at 1:00 p.m. All games are at the Friar Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in Providence, R.I.
