PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Rutgers senior swimmer Shayna Longacre won each of the six races in which she competed in a tri-meet with Connecticut and Villanova this past weekend. For her efforts she was named the Women's Swimming & Diving BIG EAST Athlete of the Week. Seton Hall junior Kevin Webster won each of his four races in a quad-meet at Loyola to earn Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week honors.

Longacre led Rutgers wins over UConn (199-155) and Villanova (193-150). The senior won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:52.30 and also set a new pool record in the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.15. She also helped set a pool record in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:36.23. In the 100 breaststroke, the Barto, Pa., native set a new pool record at the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium with a time of 1:04.15. That mark broke her previous pool record set in 2007. She also won the 100 free (51.51) and swam the third leg of a 3:28.21 win in the 400 free relay.

Webster helped the Pirates defeat BIG EAST rival Georgetown, 155-143, and Lafayette, 188.5-108.5. Seton Hall fell to Loyola, 160-131, in Baltimore. The junior picked up individual first place finishes in the 100 backstroke (49.43), 200 backstroke (1:50.73) and 200 individual medley (1:53.30). The Leawood, Kan., native also combined to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:34.45. Webster is currently the BIG EAST leader in the 100 backstroke.
