Louisville Holds Off Arkansas State 34-24

JONESBORO, Ark. -- Chris Philpot hit a 46-yard field goal with 3:54 remaining to help Louisville hold off Arkansas State for a 34-24 victory on Saturday night.
 
The Cardinals (2-2) built a 31-7 halftime lead before the Red Wolves (1-4) closed to within 31-24 when Bobby Zalud hit a 35-yard field goal with 8:08 remaining.
 
Josh Bellamy and Adam Froman connected on a pair of touchdown passes, and Louisville's Bilal Powell scored two TDs, one of them a 47-yard scamper on a fake punt. Powell finished with 157 yards on 21 carries.
 
Arkansas State's Ryan Alpin threw three touchdown passes, two of them to Allen Muse, but he also fired two interceptions.
