NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE (quarterfinals) - Friday, Nov. 26
Georgetown at 17/19 Ohio State 5:00 p.m.
7/10 Notre Dame at 6/6 Oklahoma State 8:00 p.m.
Winners advance to the College Cup in Cary, N.C., as one of the final four teams in the NCAA Championship. The College Cup will be held Dec. 3 & 5.
NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP BERTHS – The BIG EAST Conference has totaled 22 NCAA Championship berths over the past four years to average almost six teams a season. In addition, the league has seen a team (Notre Dame) advance to the College Cup in each of the last four years.

NINE NCAA WINS – The BIG EAST Conference has totaled nine wins during the 2010 NCAA Championship, a mark also set in 2007 and 2006. The league record for wins is 10 set in 2004.
SIX BIG EAST TEAMS IN THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP – Six BIG EAST women’s soccer teams will participate in the 2010 NCAA Championship, including first-time entrant USF. In addition, three BIG EAST schools will serve as host sites for the First-and Second Rounds: Notre Dame, Marquette and West Virginia. Connecticut and Georgetown also were picked to round out the BIG EAST contingent.
The BIG EAST record for most teams selected is eight set in 2001. Last year seven BIG EAST teams earned an NCAA berth.
BIG EAST CONFERENCE – A BIG EAST team has advanced to the College Cup 11 times in the past 15 years (since 1995). In addition, a BIG EAST squad has played for the women’s soccer national championship eight times, including four appearances in the last seven seasons. The BIG EAST has claimed a pair of women’s soccer national titles (Notre Dame in 1995 and 2004).
CREATING HISTORY – Four BIG EAST women’s soccer teams advanced to the Third Round of the NCAA Championship for the first time in league history. All four teams were on the road and posted a 2-2-0 mark. The league had a record three teams advance to the quarterfinals in 2007; UConn, Notre Dame and West Virginia.
The league had two teams advance to the semifinals in 1997 (UConn vs. ND). The Huskies won 2-1.
NOTRE DAME – ND beat North Carolina 4-1 to advance to the third round. The win over North Carolina was the first time UNC lost a match by multiple goals since Nov. 24, 1985, when the Tar Heels dropped a 2-0 decision at George Mason (a run of 607 matches), and the first time UNC had ever yielded four goals on its home pitch to a college opponent. It also represented the most goals allowed by North Carolina in a single match during the NCAA era (1982-present), with Harvard the only college program ever to score more goals against the Tar Heels, posting a 5-3 win over UNC on Nov. 16, 1980, at the AIAW Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Irish travel to Oklahoma State at 8 p.m. ET.
GEORGETOWN – GU has totaled a school-record 15 wins and beat its first Big Ten team in program history with a 1-0 win at Minnesota in the third round. Georgetown is making its second appearance in the NCAA Championship and is in the midst of its best season in program history. The Hoyas travel to Ohio State on Friday at 5 p.m. ET.
