Syracuse advances to Friday’s semifinal round of the BIG EAST Championship, where the Orange will face No. 9-seeded Connecticut. Syracuse and Connecticut have met 12 times in the BIG EAST Championship, with the Orange holding a 7-5 record against the Huskies.

Syracuse-Connecticut will tie Syracuse-Georgetown as the most-played series in the BIG EAST Championship. Syracuse and Georgetown have played 13 times.

Syracuse and Connecticut will meet for the first time in the BIG EAST Championship since their six-overtime game March 12, 2009, in the quarterfinals. Syracuse won that game, 127-117.
