Sparkling New Facilities: UCF unveiled two new state-of-the-art facilities in 2007 –Bright House Networks Stadium for football and UCF Arena for the school’s men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams. Both venues are located in “Knights Plaza,” an athletic village located on the north end of campus. The plaza also includes a new soccer/track complex and the only Division I indoor football practice facility in Florida.
Growth With Quality and Access to Opportunities: The University of Central Florida is the second-largest university in the United States with nearly 60,000 students. The fall 2012 freshman class boasts an average SAT score of 1244, a 77-point increase from 10 years ago. UCF also enrolls a university-record 241 National Merit Scholars. U.S. News and World Report ranks UCF as a “Top Up-And-Coming” university, recognizing schools that recently made promising, innovative changes.
UCF Graduates its Football Players: UCF is one of 17 programs in the nation to be honored by the American Football Coaches Association in 2010-11 for graduating 90 percent or more of its student-athletes.
Success On The Field: UCF has enjoyed significant success in just a short time as a Football Bowl Subdivision member. The Knights won Conference USA championships in 2007 and 2010 and captured Conference USA East Division crowns in 2005, 2007 and 2010. The Knights went on to win the 2010 AutoZone Liberty Bowl, defeating Georgia to cap an 11-win season.
A Destination City: The city of Orlando and Central Florida comprise the 19th-largest media market in the United States and one of the most-visited tourist destinations in the world. The region is home to more theme parks and entertainment attractions than anywhere else in the world, and Orlando is one of the busiest American cities for conferences and conventions. Located in the heart of the tourism corridor, UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management enrolls more than 3,000 students at a campus often compared to a resort hotel. Students benefit from the close partnerships with theme parks, the convention center, hotels and other industry leaders.
