BIG EAST teams compiled a 10-2 record Saturday.
Only eight teams nationally remain undefeated. Three of those squads play in the BIG EAST. Syracuse is 11-0 with Louisville and Marquette at 10-0.
Louisville guard Russ Smith notched career highs with 24 points and seven steals in the 95-87 victory over Memphis. He played only 25 minutes in his third collegiate start.
St. John’s Moe Harkless posted his third straight double-double with 13 points and 16rebounds in the 56-50 win against Fordham.
Rutgers guard Myles Mack scored a game-high 22 points on 7-of-8-shooting from the floor and 6-of-6 from the foul line in the 67-58 win over Stony Brook. Both games were part of the MSG Holiday Festival
Forward Kevin Jones contributed 22 points and eight rebounds to West Virginia’s 84-64 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. He also shot 11-of-16 from the floor. WVU shot 54.5 percent from the field.
Georgetown has a seven-game winning streak after defeating American 81-55. Guard Markel Starks scored a career-high 18 points. Forward Hollis Thompson added 15 points and eight rebounds.
Freshman guard Todd Mayo had a collegiate-high and game-high 22 points in Marquette’s 93-72 win against Northern Colorado. It was also his first start as a collegian. Mayo also had five rebounds and four steals.
Cincinnati guard Cashmere Wright scored a career-high 25 points in the 101-70 victory over Radford.
DePaul has a four-game winning streak after Saturday’s 81-62 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Guard Brandon Young paced four players in double figures with 19 points.
Today Seton Hall hosts Mercer at noon while Connecticut hosts Holy Cross at 1 p.m.
