Connecticut defeated Holy Cross 77-40 behind forward Andre Drummond’s 24 points and eight rebounds. Forward Alex Oriakhi added 15 points while guard Shabazz Napier had 13 assists for the Huskies. Connecticut hosts Fairfield at 7 p.m. on Thursday
Seton Hall edged Mercer 80-77 in overtime as forward Herb Pope posted 24 points and 17 rebounds. Pope leads the league in scoring with 22.1 points per game and in rebounding with 11.8. All five Pirates starters scored in double figures. At 9-1, Seton Hall is off to its best start since 1992-93, when they went 14-1. The Pirates travel to face Dayton at 7 p.m. on Wednesday
Today USF hosts Cleveland State at 7 p.m. West Virginia squares off against Tennessee Tech at 7 p.m. as part of the IBN Sports Las Vegas Classic. Notre Dame hosts Sacred Heart at 7:30 while Marquette travels to LSU at 9 p.m.
The number of undefeated teams has dwindled to seven. Three of those squads play in the BIG EAST. Syracuse is 11-0 with Louisville and Marquette at 10-0.
