In Tuesday’s BIG EAST action, Seton Hall snapped an 11-game losing streak to Connecticut with a 75-63 victory. Guard Jordan Theodore led the Pirates scoring all 19 of his points in the second half. He also provided 11 assists to register his fourth double-double of the season.
Forward Jeremy Lamb had 19 points while Niels Giffey was the only other Husky in double figures with 11.
Guard Russ Smith scored 17 points, Kyle Kuric had 15 and Gorgui Dieng added 12 for Louisville as it beat St. John’s 73-58.
Guard D’Angelo Harrison had 24 points and eight rebounds for the Red Storm while forward Moe Harkless finished with 12 points.
In Wednesday’s action Notre Dame plays at Cincinnati. Notre Dame has won three straight against the Bearcats, including a pair of wins last season.
Marquette travels to Georgetown on ESPNU. The Hoyas won last year’s meeting 69-60 at the Verizon Center. The two teams have split eight BIG EAST meetings. Marquette leads the BIG EAST regular season series 4-3.
West Virginia travels to New Jersey play Rutgers. The Mountaineers have won the past six meetings. Their last loss was 67-64 at the RAC in the NIT on March 22, 2004.
Syracuse travels to face Providence at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Syracuse won 81-74 at the Carrier Dome last season. PC’s last win was on Jan. 28, 2009 with a 100-94 victory in Providence. SU leads the series 40-8 in BIG EAST regular season play.
