The BIG EAST Conference has named Marquette guard Darius Johnson-Odom and St. John's forward Moe Harkless the winners of the conference's weekly men's basketball honors for the week-ending Jan. 29.
Johnson-Odom was named BIG EAST Player of the Week after he averaged 21.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in a 2-0 week for Marquette, helping the Golden Eagles to reach sole possession of second place in the BIG EAST standings. He scored 17 points with six boards and two steals in a 67-47 win against USF and scored a game-high 26 points with six rebounds, five assists and two steals in an 82-78 win at Villanova. Johnson-Odom has been Marquette’s leading scorer in each of the Golden Eagles’ last five games and has helped his team to a six-game winning streak.
Harkless was tabbed as BIG EAST Rookie of the Week after he averaged 26.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in two games for St. John’s, including a 30-point, 13-rebound effort in an 83-76 loss at No. 8/6 Duke. He began the week by scoring 23 points with 11 rebounds in a 78-62 win against West Virginia. Harkless enters the week averaging 16.6 points per game, which leads all BIG EAST freshmen and ranks seventh overall.

Averaged 22.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in two games. Set Providence’s freshman scoring record with 33 points in an 81-76 loss at USF.

Averaged 15.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in wins against Cincinnati and West Virginia.
Kevin Jones, West Virginia, F, Sr.
Averaged 23.0 points and 11.0 rebounds in two games. Has registered seven consecutive 20-point games.
