The game was Notre Dame’s second consecutive overtime contest in the BIG EAST Championship. The Irish lost to Louisville 83-77 in overtime in the 2011 semifinals. It was the first overtime game for USF in the BIG EAST Championship.

Tonight’s game was the third overtime game of the 2012 BIG EAST Championship, matching the most in tournament history (1998, 2011).
