PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Notre Dame rowing team’s varsity eight earned BIG EAST Boat of the Week honors. The crew won two races including the Varsity Eight Grand Final at Eagle Creek Reservoir in Indianapolis, Ind., on April 28.
The crew of coxswain Abby Meyers, Courtney Gaberino, Morgan Kelley, Stephanie O'Neill, Erin McConnell, Olivia Kacsits, Ailish Sheehan, Erin Boxberger and Molly Bruggeman edged Syracuse in the Grand Final with a time of 6:41.0. The Irish finished .6 seconds ahead of the Orange, taking the lead in the final five strokes of the race. Iowa finished the race in third place with a time of 6:47.6 while Louisville finished in fourth crossing the line in 6:51.2.
