PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Jennifer Condaras has been promoted to Associate Commissioner for Compliance & SWA Liaison, BIG EAST Conference Interim Commissioner Joe Bailey has announced. Also, Kenny Schank was promoted to Director of Compliance. Bailey announced five other promotions and hirings.
“Jen and Kenny have done outstanding work in our compliance department and their promotions are most deserved,” said Bailey. “It was quickly apparent to me that they have the respect of our staff and our member schools.”
Mark Hodgkin has been named Director of Digital Media to better reflect his position. Previously, he was Director of Internet Services. The conference has hired Catherine Carmignani as Olympic/Sport Administration Assistant and Jamie Corun as Digital Network Assistant. Mike O’Brien and Brooke Rayder have been named Communication Assistants.
Condaras has served as an Assistant Commissioner for Compliance since she was hired in 2005. She serves BIG EAST institutions in helping interpret NCAA rules and regulations. For the last three years, she has been the conference liaison with the schools’ Senior Woman Administrators. She assists that group with sportsmanship initiatives, assisting in the supervision of Olympic sports administration and other conference business.
Schank focuses on the daily compliance duties for the BIG EAST membership which will increase in the 2013-14 academic year with the addition of five full members. He has been with the BIG EAST since 2008.
Carmignani comes to the BIG EAST from the America East Conference where she completed an administration internship. She earned a master’s degree from Springfield College. Corun is a 2012 graduate of Appalachian State University where she was student intern in the athletics department. O’Brien has sports communications experience at the University of New Haven where he earned a master’s degree. Rayder earned a master’s degree at Georgetown University where she worked in the sports communications department.
