Providence came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Holy Cross 3-2 in Worcester on Sept. 11. Junior Brittany Ross scored in the first half to make the score 2-1, and sophomore Henni Tietze evened the game at 2-2 early in the second half. Sophomore Steph Guglielmo scored the game-winner with seven minutes left in regulation. Providence outshot the Crusaders 22-6, and recorded a 10-1 advantage in penalty corners.
CONNECTICUT’S BOLLES RECEIVES REGIONAL HONOR
Connecticut forward Marie Elena Bolles was named Division I ECAC Offensive Player of the Week following a six-point weekend against No. 15 Michigan on Sept. 8. and No. 21 Albany on Sept. 9.

The BIG EAST has two teams in the top 5 of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll this week, No. 2 Syracuse and No. 5 Connecticut.
LEAGUE PLAY BEGINS THIS WEEKEND
BIG EAST play begins this week, with No. 2 Syracuse (5-0) hosting Villanova (4-2) and Providence (3-2) travelling to Georgetown (2-4) on Friday. Rutgers (3-3) also will play at No. 5 Connecticut (5-0) on Saturday.
