Last year, Louisville forward Christine Exeter was named BIG EAST Offensive player of the year. The sophomore notched 11 goals in conference games – most in the BIG EAST and helped her Cardinals to the Championship game of the conference championship.
After a busy summer in which she played for Canada in the FIFA U-20 World Cup she is back in action for Louisville as the Cardinals travel to South Bend to play the conference’s first nationally televised game of the season (Friday at 4:00 p.m. ET, ESPNU and WATCHESPN).
This weekend, Exeter returned to the starting lineup after missing the first two games and then coming off the bench the next two. While she has yet to notch a goal on the season, she will be counted on by head coach Karen Ferguson-Daves to key the offense as conference play begins.
Thursday’s game is a rematch of last year’s BIG EAST Championship semifinal in which the Cardinal won 2-1. Highlights of that game can be seen HERE.
