DePaul returns 84 percent of its scoring from last season, including the BIG EAST’s leading scorer in senior guard Anna Martin, who averaged 19.1 points per game. DePaul ranked 23rd in the country in scoring in 2011-12 with 72.0 points per game. The Blue Demons also return 87 percent of their rebounding, including the BIG EAST’s leading rebounder, senior forward Katherine Harry, who grabbed 9.5 boards per game and broke a McGrath-Phillips Arena record with 20 rebounds against Louisville on Jan. 31, 2012.
Anna Martin returns for her senior season. Martin, who was not on the Preseason All-BIG EAST team in 2011-12, was a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection. Katherine Harry enters her season with 804 rebounds which ranks sixth all-time, averaging 7.8 rebounds per game throughout her career. Sophomore guard Brittany Hrynko, who led DePaul in assists returns for her sophomore season, and will be joined in the by Chanise Jenkins, who was sidelined with an ankle injury two games into the season after earning Maggie Dixon Classic all-tournament honors.

DePaul loses two starters in Deanna Ortiz and Keisha Hampton. Hampton, a unanimous Preseason All-Conference selection prior to the start of last year, averaged 16.6 ppg and 4.6 rpg before a season-ending injury. Ortiz averaged 4.6 ppg and played in 32 games.
DePaul returns six of the seven top players from last year, including All-American Anna Martin. Adding to its rotation will be Alexa Gallagher and Chanise Jenkins who missed 2011-12 with injuries, both will be freshman. Megan Podkowa, Brooke Schulte and Brandi Harvey-Carr will also be in the Blue Demon freshmen class. Junior transfer Kelsey Smith will sit out the fall quarter but will be eligible to play following DePaul’s final exams in November. Brittany Hrynko was the first freshman to lead DePaul in assists since the 1997-98 season.
