Many BIG EAST are playing local rivals this week, Thursday’s schedule includes Providence hosting Rhode Island. It will be the 123rd meeting in the series, which has been played each year since 1935, with the exception of 1943 and 1944, when Providence didn’t field a team during World War II. The Friars won last year’s matchup 80-61.
Also tonight, Syracuse hosts Long Beach State on ESPN2 and Cincinnati meets Arkansas-Little Rock at home on the BIG EAST Network and SNY.
