Eight BIG EAST teams were in action Wednesday as the four homestanding clubs came away with victories. St. John’s moved into sole possession of third place in the league standings with a 79-74 overtime win against DePaul, while Cincinnati, Georgetown and Notre Dame all improved to 5-3 in BIG EAST play.

 

Only one game is listed on Thursday’s schedule as Connecticut visits Providence for a 7 p.m. matchup on ESPN2. Providence has won five of the last seven meetings between the New England rivals, while the Huskies look for their first win at the Dunkin Donuts Center since Jan. 28, 2006.
