PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Notre Dame junior Greg Andrews was named BIG EAST Player of the Week in men’s tennis for the third time this season and Cincinnati senior Jasmine Lee was named BIG EAST Player of the Week in women’s tennis in the seventh weekly awards of the spring 2013 season.

 

Andrews went 1-0 in singles play and 1-0 in doubles as No. 29 Notre Dame defeated No. 59 Wisconsin 5-2. The top-ranked singles player in the BIG EAST (No. 97) defeated Billy Bertha 6-1, 6-3 from the No. 1 position. Teamed with Spencer Talmadge, the duo took down Bertha and Alexander Kostanov 8-6 in the No. 1 spot.

 

Lee helped lead Cincinnati to a 6-1 win over Butler. The senior went 1-0 in singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win against Stephanie McLoughlin from the No. 1 position. In doubles play, the pair of Lee and Caitlin O’Gara defeated Caroline Hedrick and Brittany Farmer in the No. 1 spot 8-4.
