BIG EAST Player of the Week
Skylar Diggins, Notre Dame, Sr., G (South Bend, Ind./Washington)
Diggins averaged 27.0 ppg in a 3-0 week for the Fighting Irish that clinched the outright BIG EAST regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the BIG EAST Championship. Diggins averaged 6.3 rpg and dished out a combined 17 assists. She grabbed 12 steals last week, while becoming Notre Dame’s all-time leader in that category. Against No. 22/20 Syracuse she had 24 points, six steals and eight assists. At Providence, she recorded 28 points and shot 53 percent. In a triple-overtime win against No. 3/3 Connecticut, she had 29 points and 11 rebounds.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Brittney Sykes, Syracuse, Fr., G (Newark, N.J./University)
Sykes averaged 11.7 ppg and 7.3 rpg, while shooting 53 percent from the floor last week. In a win against No. 16/14 Louisville, she had 16 points, connecting on 7-of-12 to help the Orange clinch the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Championship.
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Connecticut, So., F
Mosqueda-Lewis averaged 25.7 ppg in a 2-1 week for the Huskies. She shot 49 percent from the field, 53 percent from 3-point range and 90 percent from the free throw line. She added 8.3 rpg, 12 assists with only five turnovers and eight steals.
Arlesia Morse, Marquette, So, G
Morse averaged 17.0 ppg in a 3-0 week for the Golden Eagles. She shot 50 percent from the floor, connected on 6-of-12 3-pointers and added seven steals.
Brittany Morris, Seton Hall, Sr., G
Morris had 20 points in a loss at No. 16/14 Louisville and 28 points in a win against NR/RV St. John’s.
Kayla Alexander, Syracuse, Sr., C
Alexander averaged 20.7 points and 11.0 rebounds over three games to help the Orange clinch the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Championship.
Laura Sweeney, Villanova, Sr., F
Sweeney had 29 points in a win at No. 22/20 Syracuse and 15 points and eight rebounds in a win against Providence. In a loss to St. John’s, she had 15 points and 11 rebounds.
