BIG EAST baseball statistics
Louisville (17-2) rallied from a five-run deficit in the second inning to beat USC 13-6 at Jim Patterson Stadium on March 19. Catcher Kyle Gibson went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Cardinals on offense. Kyle McGrath took the win on the mound after pitching four innings, allowing two hits, one run and striking out six.
Connecticut (11-6) and Georgetown (13-6) also earned nonconference victories on Tuesday. The Huskies beat College of Charleston 9-4, and Georgetown downed George Washington 10-4. Both wins came on the road.
League teams wrap up nonconference play on Wednesday. Conference play begins Friday. Georgetown travels to Connecticut, Pittsburgh visits St. John’s, Notre Dame hosts Seton Hall, Louisville hosts Rutgers and Cincinnati meets USF in Tampa. Villanova has a bye.
