PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Notre Dame’s Ashley Armstrong was named BIG EAST Women’s Golf Player of the Week after winning the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate on March 15-17. The sophomore shot a 215 (76-69-70) to finish one under par. She defeated 11 nationally-ranked top-100 players and four ranked in the top-50. In her final round she had four birdies, climbing from fourth place to first. Armstrong started the second round in 21st place. The Fighting Irish finished third as a team.
BIG EAST Women’s Golf Notebook
- St. John’s junior Harin Lee finished tied for 12th at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate on March 17-19.
o Lee helped St. John’s to a 16th-place finish for the Red Storm.
o Only two rounds of play were completed due to poor weather.
