After a three-year hiatus, the BIG EAST Volleyball Championship returns to the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky., this weekend. The University of Louisville will serve as the host for the seven-game tournament which will feature the league's eight top-seeded teams. The first game will start at 10 a.m. on Friday and the championship match will be held on Sunday. The 3 p.m. ET final will be shown on ESPNU. The winner will earn the BIG EAST's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

The eighth-ranked Syracuse University field hockey team had its season come to an end this afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Class of '52 Stadium on the campus of Princeton University. The fourth-ranked Princeton Tigers outscored Syracuse 5-0 in the second half to defeat Syracuse 7-3 and to advance to the Final Four. The Orange finishes 2009 with an 18-4 record, while the Tigers improved to 16-2.
