University of Connecticut senior forward Loren Sherer (Essex, England) has been named as one of four finalists for the 2009-10 Honda Award for Field Hockey, which recognizes the National Player of the Year.

Connecticut senior forward Loren Sherer was named Mideast Region Player of the Year by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association following a record-breaking season. Along with Sherer, 17 other BIG EAST field hockey student-athletes earned 2009 Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I All-Region honors, including 11 receiving first team recognition.
