Last Friday, the unthinkable events in Newtown, Connecticut have left a community - and country -grieving and searching for answers. This week, several members of the BIG EAST Conference have stepped up to honor not only the victims but those left behind.

The basketball institutions have notified us that they plan to withdraw from the BIG EAST Conference.

The BIG EAST Conference welcomed new members Boise State, Central Florida, Houston, San Diego State and SMU with messages on the American Eagle Outfitters video board in Times Square.

The BIG EAST Conference recently distributed full or partial grants as part of the BIG EAST Professional Development Grant for Women and Ethnic Minorities program, which provides funds for professional development to the league’s coaches and administrators.
