Three BIG EAST men’s soccer teams opened 2011 NCAA Championship play on Thursday, with Providence, West Virginia and Rutgers all winning to advance to the second round.

Louisville’s Austin Berry named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, Syracuse’s Phil Boerger tabbed BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week and Connecticut’s Andre Blake collected BIG EAST Rookie of the Week.
