USF (50-13) will play LSU (39-24) in the 2012 Women’s College World Series at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 2 at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla. The game is a must win for the Bulls after USF lost to Oklahoma 5-1 in the opening game of the tournament on Thursday in the double-elimination championship.

USF’s Sara Nevins, Notre Dame’s Amy Buntin and DePaul’s Kirsten Verdun were named second team All-Americans while Syracuse’s Jenna Caira and Louisville’s Tori Collins and Taner Fowler were selected to the third team.

The USF softball team has punched its ticket to the Women’s College World Series for the first time in program history. The Bulls beat Hofstra by a score of 2-1 in both games of the Super Regional double header on Saturday to become one of eight teams to play in the WCWS in Oklahoma City, Okla., on May 31 – June 6.
