University of Pittsburgh volleyball standout Meagan Dooley, the 2009 BIG EAST Player of the Year, has been chosen as the 2009-10 BIG EAST Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The selection was made by the Conference's Academic Affairs Committee.

After a three-year hiatus, the BIG EAST Volleyball Championship returns to the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky., this weekend. The University of Louisville will serve as the host for the seven-game tournament which will feature the league's eight top-seeded teams. The first game will start at 10 a.m. on Friday and the championship match will be held on Sunday. The 3 p.m. ET final will be shown on ESPNU. The winner will earn the BIG EAST's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
