 Former University of Connecticut women's basketball standout was officially inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

Louisville junior Matt Hughes captured the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase national title to highlight BIG EAST's performances at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held June 9-12 at the University of Oregon. The first-place finish of 8:34.18 minutes catapulted the Cardinals to a 17th-place finish in the team standings with 15 points, leading the conference's men's teams. On the women's side, four top-10 finishes for West Virginia pushed the Mountaineers to 16th place in the team standings, leading all BIG EAST squads.

Notre Dame senior women's tennis player Cosmina Ciobanu has been named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America second team.

 Syracuse women's lacrosse senior standout Christina Dove highlights the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Women's At-Large Teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Dove was a first-team selection.

Notre Dame's Kristy Frilling and Kali Krisik along with Louisville's Austen Childs capped off successful seasons by being named to the 2010 ITA All-America Tennis Team.

The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) announced that four members of the Providence men’s lacrosse team have been named NEILA Senior Scholars.

Cincinnati Director of Golf Janet Carl has been elected the Vice President of the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA).

 For the third consecutive year, a record number of BIG EAST women's lacrosse players (11) have been selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) all-America team. The selections include three first-team performers, along with five second-team selections and three third-team picks.

ROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse men's lacrosse student-athlete John Galloway was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District I Men's At-Large Team.

Louisville junior Austen Childs' run in the NCAA singles championship ended with a 6-1, 6-2 loss to Stanford's Bradley Klahn in the title match on May 30. Childs' runner-up finish is the best-ever for a Louisville player.
