After a one-two finish in the women’s javelin to start the day, the DePaul men’s and women’s track and field teams continued to post solid performances at Gettler Stadium during their first day of the BIG EAST Conference Championships.
No. 1 seed Notre Dame won its 10th women's BIG EAST Tennis Championship title after defeating No. 3 seed DePaul 4-0. The Irish earned the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship and will be making their 15th consecutive appearance in the national tournament and 17th overall.
DePaul senior Becca Heteniak was selected as one of the 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award for college softball. This is the fourth year that the award recognizes a softball player for outstanding athletic, academic, leadership and community-service achievements.
