 For the third consecutive year, a record number of BIG EAST women's lacrosse players (11) have been selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) all-America team. The selections include three first-team performers, along with five second-team selections and three third-team picks.
For the third consecutive year, the BIG EAST Conference tied a league record as three women's lacrosse teams were selected to compete in the 16-team, Division I NCAA Championship. Georgetown (13-5), Notre Dame (11-6) and Syracuse (13-6) all earned a berth marking the fourth time overall the BIG EAST has had three teams selected.
Georgetown (13-5) beat Syracuse (13-6) by the score of 13-11 in the title game of the BIG EAST women's lacrosse championship to capture its first tournament title before a sun-splashed crowd of 636 at Ronald N. Yurcak Field on the campus of Rutgers University. Hoyas senior Molly Ford scored four goals, including the eventual game-winner and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
 The 2010 BIG EAST women's lacrosse championship began a weekend of postseason action with a banquet announcing the league's all-conference teams and major award winners on at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, N.J.
