Nineteen Big East players hear their names called over the three-day draft.
West Virginia defensive end Bruce Irvin, a two-time All-BIG EAST selection, was the first BIG EAST player off the board. The Seattle Seahawks tabbed Irvin with the 15th pick in the draft. Another All-BIG EAST defensive end followed shortly thereafter as the New England Patriots chose Syracuse's Chandler Jones at No. 21.

Paul Tagliabue, the Commissioner of the NFL from 1989 until 2006, will serve as a Special Advisor to the BIG EAST Conference to provide strategic advice on future television arrangements and other priority matters, BIG EAST Commissioner John Marinatto announced.
