 UConn's Maya Moore was honored as an All-American by The Associated Press on Tuesday, the third straight year she has made the team. Moore was joined on the squad by teammate Tina Charles, Nebraska's Kelsey Griffin, Virginia's Monica Wright and Ohio State's Jantel Lavender.

University of Connecticut senior forward Loren Sherer (Essex, England) has been named as one of four finalists for the 2009-10 Honda Award for Field Hockey, which recognizes the National Player of the Year.
Connecticut senior forward Loren Sherer was named Mideast Region Player of the Year by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association following a record-breaking season. Along with Sherer, 17 other BIG EAST field hockey student-athletes earned 2009 Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I All-Region honors, including 11 receiving first team recognition.
The University of Connecticut field hockey team tied its highest ranking of the season as they earned the No. 5 spot in the final installment of the Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I Field Hockey Coaches Poll.
