Four schools shared the BIG EAST softball regular-season awards, as major award winners and all-conference teams were announced on Wednesday evening at the 2012 BIG EAST Softball Championship banquet

Louisville, Notre Dame, Syracuse, USF, DePaul, St. John’s, Rutgers and Connecticut will all be competing for the championship crown.

St. John’s junior Sean O’Hare was selected as the BIG EAST Baseball Player of the Week and USF’s senior Andrew Barbosa was named BIG EAST Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Loyola, Syracuse and Notre Dame will represent the league.

Two BIG EAST men’s lacrosse teams will compete in the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship as Syracuse earned the league’s automatic berth and Notre Dame was an at-large selection. The Fighting Irish earned a No. 4 seed and will host Yale in the first round. Syracuse will play at No. 3 seed Duke.

The NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee selected the teams and individuals to participate in the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships on Monday.
