Louisville senior Stewart Ijames was selected as the BIG EAST Baseball Player of the Week and Villanova junior Stephen Ostapeck was named BIG EAST Baseball Pitcher of the week after the second week of action.

The BIG EAST baseball season officially kicked off last week with all 12 teams playing. Notre Dame’s junior catcher Joe Hudson earned the season’s first BIG EAST Player of the Week honor, while Connecticut sophomore left hander Brian Ward was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week.
