Syracuse, Georgetown, Loyola, Notre Dame and Connecticut were each selected.

It is the third time Syracuse has won the tournament title and first time since 2008.

The title game of the wlax championship features No. 1 seed Syracuse (15-3) against No. 2 seed and host Georgetown (13-4).

No. 2 seed Georgetown (13-4) beat No. 3 seed Loyola 16-14 in the second semifinal of the wlax championship.

Syracuse earned the No. 1 seed and will take on No. 4 seed Connecticut at 5:30 p.m. ET. Georgetown is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 3 seed Loyola at approximately 7:45 p.m. ET.

Syracuse extended its school-record winning streak to 15 games.

Syracuse junior Michelle Tumolo was named the BIG EAST Attack Player of the Year.

Host Syracuse holds the No. 1 seed.

The Hoyas totaled 60 points, including five first-place votes and were selected ahead of Syracuse (59 points), which had three first-place selections.

Three league players earned First Team accolades, including BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year Logan McCraw.

The No. 4 seed Notre Dame upset No. 1 seed Georgetown 15-12 in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Championship.

Championship begins on May 5 at 5:30 p.m. ET at Georgetown’s Multi Sport Field.

No. 2 seed Syracuse will face No. 3 seed Loyola in the first semifinal on May 5 at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET. The Hoyas will host the tournament and face No. 4 seed Notre Dame at approximately 8:15 p.m. ET.

Georgetown has earned the No. 1 seed for the 2011 BIG EAST women’s lacrosse championship.

Georgetown sophomore Dina Jackson was tabbed BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and Louisville freshman Monica Negron earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

 For the third consecutive year, a record number of BIG EAST women's lacrosse players (11) have been selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) all-America team. The selections include three first-team performers, along with five second-team selections and three third-team picks.

For the third consecutive year, the BIG EAST Conference tied a league record as three women's lacrosse teams were selected to compete in the 16-team, Division I NCAA Championship. Georgetown (13-5), Notre Dame (11-6) and Syracuse (13-6) all earned a berth marking the fourth time overall the BIG EAST has had three teams selected.

Georgetown (13-5) beat Syracuse (13-6) by the score of 13-11 in the title game of the BIG EAST women's lacrosse championship to capture its first tournament title before a sun-splashed crowd of 636 at Ronald N. Yurcak Field on the campus of Rutgers University. Hoyas senior Molly Ford scored four goals, including the eventual game-winner and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

 The 2010 BIG EAST women's lacrosse championship began a weekend of postseason action with a banquet announcing the league's all-conference teams and major award winners on at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, N.J.
