The No. 3 seed Loyola University women’s lacrosse team held off a furious second half rally by Syracuse, and beat the No. 2 seed Orange 12-11 in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
Championship begins on May 5 at 5:30 p.m. ET at Georgetown’s Multi Sport Field.
No. 2 seed Syracuse will face No. 3 seed Loyola in the first semifinal on May 5 at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET. The Hoyas will host the tournament and face No. 4 seed Notre Dame at approximately 8:15 p.m. ET.
Syracuse senior Tee Ladouceur was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and classmate Liz Hogan was tabbed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week.
 Syracuse women's lacrosse senior standout Christina Dove highlights the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Women's At-Large Teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Dove was a first-team selection.
 For the third consecutive year, a record number of BIG EAST women's lacrosse players (11) have been selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) all-America team. The selections include three first-team performers, along with five second-team selections and three third-team picks.
For the third consecutive year, the BIG EAST Conference tied a league record as three women's lacrosse teams were selected to compete in the 16-team, Division I NCAA Championship. Georgetown (13-5), Notre Dame (11-6) and Syracuse (13-6) all earned a berth marking the fourth time overall the BIG EAST has had three teams selected.
 The 2010 BIG EAST women's lacrosse championship began a weekend of postseason action with a banquet announcing the league's all-conference teams and major award winners on at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, N.J.
