Mike Gambardella, a two-time graduate of St. John's University, has been a fan of BIG EAST Basketball for the past 13 years. His mother's side of the family grew up in the Bronx, just a Borough over from the St. John's University campus in Queens, N.Y. He was hooked at a young age by the late '90's teams that made runs in the NCAA Tournament behind stars like Lavor Postell, Erik Barkley and Ron Artest (Now Metta World Peace), and has come to respect the early beginnings of St. John's basketball with legendary coaches Joe Lapchick and Lou Carnesecca, and all-time standouts such as Chris Mullin, Walter Berry and Malik Sealy.
