Growing up in New York, Nicole Hering was raised in a household of Orange & Blue in support of her NBA team. Throughout her childhood, Nicole spent countless evenings behind the court at Madison Square Garden watching Ewing, Sprewell and Houston define her favorite sport and shape her hometown pride. But the Knicks weren’t the only team she saw from those seats. Nicole’s exposure to college basketball began at a young age attending St. John’s games with her dad and getting to know the NCAA scene. When it came time to choose on a college, naturally, St John’s was her first consideration, but there was another Big East school that stood out: Syracuse. During her time at Syracuse, Nicole was an active athlete and a sister of Pi Beta Phi.

What makes you the biggest fan of the Big East?

I'm the BIGGEST fan of the Big East because: I may represent one school, but I live and breathe this whole conference. I grew up with it all -but will always stay true to the Orange!
