Marquette went 1-1 in NCAA tournament play, edging Utah State in the first round before falling to Missouri in a second-round game.

Guard Dominic James, thought to be lost to a season-ending foot injury, returned to the lineup against Missouri in the season finale.

Guard Jerel McNeal averaged 19.8 points per game and was an All-BIG EAST First Team selection. Guard Wesley Matthews was chosen to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.

McNeal matched his career high with 30 points in the NCAA tournament loss to Missouri.
