Connecticut
Men’s Notes
Connecticut fell to Yale by a 158-142 score on Feb. 7 in a meet which was not determined until the last relay. Sophomore Tomasz Sobek had three-wins - the 100-(57.07) and 200-breast (2:02.61) and the 200-medley relay (1:32.30). Senior Adrian Astiz also had three wins - the 200-fly (1:50.93), 200-IM (1:53.53) and he was part of the 200-medley relay (1:32.30). Astiz’s 200-fly time was a pool record.
Women’s Notes
Connecticut topped Yale by a score of 184-116, marking the first time either Husky program has posted a win against the Elis. Senior Lisa Shelps posted four wins for the Huskies with victories in the 200-medley relay (1:47.46), 100-back (58.46), 100-free (53.03) and set a pool record in the 200-IM (2:05.43). Freshman Erin DeVinney posted two wins with victories in the 500-(5:03.63) and 1000-free (10:19.61) while senior Kate DeVinney had wins in the 100-(58.25) and 200-fly (2:04.60).

Georgetown
Men’s Notes
The Georgetown men's swimming & diving team lost to Maryland 140-98 on Feb. 7. The best event of the day for the Hoyas was the 100-free as David Heckler, Bryce Hillman, Brad Crist and Wes Going all qualified for the BIG EAST Championships.
Women’s Notes
The Hoya women were defeated 134-94 by Maryland. Emma Porteus attained BIG EAST Championship status in two events, the 100- and 200-breasts. Kathryn Berg also qualified in the 200-breast and Mary McGuire hit the mark in the 200-fly.

Women’s Notes
Six wins - including a diving sweep - were not enough for the Notre Dame women's swimming and diving team to get over the hump Saturday at Canham Natatorium, as the 25th-ranked Irish fell to Michigan, 141-102. The Irish seek their 13th consecutive league title at the BIG EAST Championships on Feb. 18 and hope to extend the longest championship-winning streak of any BIG EAST sport.

Pittsburgh
Men’s Notes
The Panthers defeated Clarion (216-76) and Carnegie Mellon (233-54) in the meet on Feb. 7. Named the Pitt Performer of the Meet, freshman George Krakowski was second in the 100-fly.
Women’s Notes
The Panthers defeated California (Pa.) (245-13), Clarion (191-106), Carnegie Mellon (243-24) and Slippery Rock (245-35) on Feb. 7. Freshman Megan Sisko was named the women's Performer of the Meet after she placed second in both the 100- and 200- free events. Winning two events for the Panthers, junior Ryann Kishbaugh won the 100-back (58.25) and 100-fly (58.17) in the meet.

Providence
Men’s Notes
The Providence College swimming & diving teams traveled to Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Feb. 8 to compete at the New England Invitational. Although no team scores were tallied, freshman John Evans excelled on the day, earning a BIG EAST Championship qualifying time in the 200-IM. Evans finished the event in 2:00.07.
Women’s Notes
Senior Blair Flynn earned two third-place finishes at the New England Invitational. Flynn finished the 100-back in a time of 1:04.20 and the 100-free in 56.67. Freshman Caroline Caliri also had a third-place finish coming in the 50-free in 26.69.

Syracuse
Men’s Notes
Syracuse finished out the regular season with a 157-133 win against BIG EAST foe Villanova Feb. 7. Leading the men was junior Alex Taraskin with three first-place finishes. He won three freestyle events, including the 50-free (21.76), 100-free (47.29) and the 500-free (4:45.77).
Women’s Notes
Syracuse suffered a 171-113 setback to Villanova on Feb. 7. Senior Catrina Roth won both the 50- and 100-back events with times of 27.38 and 59.24, respectively. Senior Dani Stein took first in the 100-IM (1:03.63) and placed third in both the 50-breast (31.36) and the 100-breast (1:07.77).

Villanova
Men’s Notes
Villanova lost a close battle to Syracuse 157-133 on Feb. 7. The Wildcats swept the diving events with wins by sophomore David Reynolds and freshman James Suydam.
Women’s Notes
Villanova won their final dual of the season 171-133 against Syracuse on Feb. 7. Senior Kerri McIlvain finished off her career at home with two first place finishes. McIlvain won the 50-breast with a time of 30.88, earning the Wildcats nine points. Her second win came in the 100-breast where she finished in 1:06.64.

West Virginia
Men’s Notes
West Virginia was defeated by No. 10 Ohio State, 162-121 on Feb. 6. Senior Michael Walker posted the only first-place finish of the day for the Mountaineer men in the 200-breast (2:02.32).
Women’s Notes
The Mountaineers fell 165-77 to Ohio State on Feb. 6. Junior Kayla Andrews continued her success in the sprint events, finishing in first place (23.52) in the 50-free, while freshman Sarah Kosmak finished in third place (25.01).
