Saturday’s game will be the 10th meeting between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati … The Panthers won the first seven meetings, while the Bearcats have taken the last two … The series began with consecutive games in 1921 and 1922 and didn’t resume until 1979 and 1981 … Last year’s game was a winner-take-all affair for the outright BIG EAST title and Bowl Championship Series bid … Cincinnati completed a 12-0 regular season with its second straight BIG EAST title in a 45-44 win at Heinz Field, capped by a 29-yard touchdown reception by WR Armon Binns with 33 seconds left … Cincinnati trailed 31-10 in the second quarter before rallying for the win behind a BIG EAST-record 381 all-purpose yards by Cincinnati WR Mardy Gilyard.

Pittsburgh would clinch a share of its second BIG EAST championship with a win against Cincinnati … The Panthers would win the outright BIG EAST title for the first time if they beat Cincinnati and see West Virginia and Connecticut lose Saturday … Pittsburgh’s only BIG EAST title to date was in 2004, when the Panthers were part of a four-way tie for first … The Panthers are 2-3 on the road this season … QB Tino Sunseri has completed 65.8 percent of his passes (200 of 304) and has thrown for 2,318 yards and 15 touchdowns with seven interceptions … RB Ray Graham (82.5 yards per game, eight touchdowns) and RB Dion Lewis (69.5 ypg, eight touchdowns) make for one of the top backfield tandems in the nation … WR Jon Baldwin has 47 receptions for 753 yards and five touchdowns … DE Brandon Lindsey is tied for the conference lead in sacks (10) and is the outright leader in tackles for loss (16) … DE Jabaal Sheard is third in the BIG EAST with nine sacks.
