Rae was named BIG EAST Male Track Athlete of the Week for the first time this season after recording a time of 1:49.15 in the 800-meter race. The time, which ranks first in the BIG EAST and eighth nationally, helped the sophomore win the event at the Indiana Relays on Jan. 28.
Nedow earned BIG EAST Male Field Athlete of the Week with a school record-breaking throw of 19.18 meters in the shot put at the Illinois Division I Intercollegiate Invitational on Jan. 29. The toss ranks first in the BIG EAST and fifth nationally, while falling just .12 meters short of qualifying for the NCAA Championship.
Reid was named BIG EAST Female Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after notching the nation’s best time in the 3,000-meter run at College Saturday Night at the Armory on Jan. 29. The senior crossed the finish line in 8:56.92, 17 seconds ahead of the closest competitor and four seconds faster than her mark at the NCAA Championships last season.
Frederick garnered BIG EAST Female Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after recording two first-place finishes at the Metropolitan Championships on Jan. 28-29. The senior won the pentathlon with a score of 3,612, the best in the BIG EAST this season and second-best score in school history. Frederick won the 55-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump and shot put events in the pentathlon. She scored a total of 25 points, also winning the individual high jump, leading St. John’s to its first team title at the Indoor Metropolitan Championships in 22 years.
