• USF junior Andrea Smith left the game in the first minute of play with a left knee injury.

• After taking a 5-4 lead 5:17 into the game, the Bulls fell victim to a 17-6 Pittsburgh run in a span of six minutes midway through the first half.

• Pittsburgh held a 19-8 lead early following, a 3-pointer by Jania Sims with 8:30 left in the first half. The Panthers advantage grew to as many as 14 following, a 26-12 score with 5:35 left in the first half. The Panthers held a 34-22 lead at halftime and closed the frame connecting on 10-of-16 attempts.

• USF shot 8-of-23 from the floor in the first half for a 34.8-percentage.

• After going into the break down 34-22, USF put together an 11-0 run with help from three 3-pointers to cut the Pittsburgh lead to four at 40-36 at the 16:04 mark of the second half.

• Solid second-half defense by the Bulls turned into 15 Pittsburgh turnovers as USF scored 22 points off those miscues. On the day, USF netted 33 points off 25 Pittsburgh mistakes.

• USF went on a 14-4 run to get within one at 53-52 with 4:50 left in the contest.

• USF shot 5-of-6 from the free throw in the final 3:19 of the game to take its third lead of the contest at 60-59 with 49 seconds left on the clock.

• USF’s Tiffany Connor hit a three pointer with 2:33 left in the frame to tie the game for the first time since the tip at 57 apiece.

• Pittsburgh leads the all-time series with USF, 7-2 dating back to the 2005-06 season.

• USF falls to 6-27 all-time in postseason conference tournaments with the loss, while moving to 3-6 all-time in BIG EAST Championship games.
