Watch 2011 BIG EAST Football Summer Kickoff Live Free on BIGEAST.tv

 
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Furthering its effort to provide best-in-class content to its fans, the BIG EAST Conference announced today that for the first time, it will produce a live studio show from the Conference’s 2011 Summer Kickoff at the Hotel Viking in Newport, R.I., Aug. 2 exclusively on BIGEAST.tv for the BIG EAST Digital Network.
 
Hosted by the BIG EAST/IMG College Radio Game of the Week broadcasting team of John Rooke and former New England Patriot Pete Brock, the show will be available for free at www.BIGEAST.tv.
 
The show will be the first place fans can see the results of the conference’s preseason media poll.In addition, the show will feature interviews with players, coaches as well as other guests, which include bowl directors, athletic directors and more.
 
“The BIG EAST continues to invest in providing top-quality production and content for its events,” said BIG EAST Senior Director of External Affairs Ben Fairclough. “We expect this first-of-its-kind live show from our Summer Kickoff to keep fans of our football programs coming back for more great programming throughout the course of the regular season and the postseason.”
 
Fans may submit questions for coaches and players via the conference’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bigeastconference) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/bigeastfb, #bemediaday) between now and the date of the show.


 
 
The live show is just one part of the BIG EAST’s online coverage of the 2011 Summer Kickoff. Fans will be able to access exclusive team previews, schedules, rosters, depth charts and more in the days leading up to the event. In addition, the conference will post exclusive on-demand video programming before and after the event, including exclusive team-by-team video previews during the month of August leading up to the start of the season.
 
The BIG EAST Conference, in conjunction with its digital partner XOS Digital, Inc. relaunched the online home of the BIG EAST last summer (www.bigeast.org) and has expanded its offerings by further developing its free online video platform www.bigeast.tv and creating www.bigeastmobile.com, where fans can download the official BIG EAST iPad, iPhone and Android mobile applications.
