THE GAME
Saturday’s game will be the 11th meeting between Syracuse and Louisville … The series stands tied a 5-5 after Louisville’s 28-20 win at the Carrier Dome last year … The series, which dates to 1985, includes a 24-13 Syracuse win in Tokyo, Japan, in 1989 … Louisville has won two straight, including a 10-9 decision in 2009 in the last matchup at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium … The teams combined for a BIG EAST-record 978 passing yards in 2007, when Louisville’s Brian Brohm threw for 555 yards and Syracuse’s Andrew Robinson threw for 423 in the Orange’s 38-35 win against the Cardinals in 2007.
