THE GAME
Saturday’s game against Miami will mark the third straight season in which the Bulls and Hurricanes meet and the fourth overall matchup between the schools … Miami took the first two games, in 2005 and 2009, and USF picked up its first win in the series last season, taking a 23-20 overtime win in Miami Gardens, Fla. … USF S Jerrell Young had a crucial interception with five seconds left in regulation and RB Demetris Murray ran for two touchdowns, including the gamewinner in overtime last season … The winner of Saturday’s game will become bowl-eligible.

NOTES
USF snapped a four-game slide with a 37-17 win at Syracuse last Friday … The Bulls had opened the season with four straight wins before dropping four straight … USF is 4-0 in nonconference games this season and 25-3 in nonleague games in the past five seasons … USF is second in the nation in tackles for loss, averaging 8.6 TFL per game … The Bulls are third nationally in sacks at 3.4 per game … USF has scored first in all nine games this season and has outscored its opponents by an 85-27 margin in the first quarter … QB B.J. Daniels ranks second in the BIG EAST in passing, averaging 253.4 yards per game … RB Darrell Scott is the leading rusher with 611 yards and five touchdowns on 108 carries, … Scott is fifth in the BIG EAST in rushing (76.4 ypg), but did not play against Syracuse while recovering from a wrist injury and a concussion … The Bulls lost leading WR Sterling Griffin to a season-ending knee injury two weeks ago, leaving WR Victor Marc (24 rec., 281 yards, 2 TDs) as the top receiving threat … LB DeDe Lattimore leads the defense with 66 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss … DE Ryne Giddins has team highs with 11 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles.

Miami enters Saturday’s game on the heels of a 23-19 loss at Florida State last week … This week’s visit to Tampa marks the Hurricanes’ second straight in-state road trip … Miami has not lost back-to-back games this season … RB Lamar Miller has six 100-yard games this season and ranks second in the ACC in rushing at 110.8 yards per game … Miller is 15th nationally in rushing … QB Jacory Harris ranks second on Miami’s all-time passing list with 8,322 yards … Harris trails only Ken Dorsey (9,565), a two-time BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year … Harris has thrown for 1,982 yards and 19 touchdowns with five interceptions this season … WR Tommy Streater has a team-high eight touchdown catches … LB Sean Spence has team highs of 89 tackles and 13 tackles for loss … Miami has an incredible streak of 148 straight weeks in which a former player has caught a touchdown pass in an NFL game.
