Friday’s game will be the ninth meeting between Louisville and USF in a series that dates to 2003 … The schools have met every year since then, with USF holding a 5-3 series lead … The Bulls are 4-0 against the Cardinals at Raymond James Stadium … Last year’s meeting saw USF come away with a 24-21 overtime win on a 37-yard field goal by K Maikon Bonani in the extra session after the Bulls defense stopped the Cardinals on downs on Louisville’s possession.

Louisville has won three of its last four to move into a tie for first place in the BIG EAST standings … The Cardinals would clinch at least a tie for the conference title with a win against USF and could clinch the league’s Bowl Championship Series bid Saturday, if all four games go their way … Specifically, wins by Louisville, West Virginia, Syracuse and Connecticut this week clinches the BCS bid for the Cardinals … The Cardinals are second in the BIG EAST and rank 12th nationally in scoring defense (18.7 ppg) … QB Teddy Bridgewater has started the past eight games as a true freshman … Bridgewater has thrown for 1,614 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions … WR Devante Parker has a team-high four touchdown catches … The Cardinals rank 13th nationally in tackles for loss, averaging 7.4 TFL per game … LB Dexter Heyman has team highs of 77 tackles and 14.5 tackles for loss … Heyman is second in the BIG EAST in TFL, averaging 1.32 per game … DE Marcus Smith and DE William Savoy lead the team with five sacks.
