The Pittsburgh-Syracuse rivalry dates to the 1916 season and the schools have met 66 times since then … The Panthers hold a 33-30-3 series lead and have won six straight against the Orange, whose last win was a 38-21 double-overtime decision in 2004 … Pittsburgh is 4-1 against Syracuse at Heinz Field … Panther QB Tino Sunseri threw for 281 yards and four touchdowns in last year’s 45-14 win at the Carrier Dome … The winner of this year’s game will be bowl-eligible, while the loser will see its season come to an end.
